About The District
The Greater Northside Management District is a political subdivision created in 2001 during the 77th Texas Legislative Session, pursuant to House Bill 3634 authored by Representative Jessica Farrar and sponsored in the Senate by Senator Mario Gallegos. This bill was codified as Chapter 3812 Texas Special Districts Local Laws Code. The District began providing services in August 2006.
Greater Northside Management District promotes economic development, improves the quality of life for commercial property owners and creates opportunities for new development. It also implements beneficial projects and programs for individual property owners.
The District provides a security patrol, a graffiti abatement program and a litter abatement program among other services. All programs and services are approved and monitored by a Board of Directors that consists of commercial property and business owners and/or their agents.
The District is guided by this Mission Statement:
In order to enhance the District and increase economic activity for the business property owners, the District will work to establish and implement projects and programs to:
- Promote public safety in the District and create a safe environment in both perception and reality;
- Attract more business and additional investment to the District;
- Enhance the image of the District;
- Seek additional public and private funds to invest in the District;
- Improve infrastructure and amenities in the District; and
- Administer the District efficiently and effectively.
