Trees For Houston Program

  • Trees For Houston was founded in 1982 as the Live Oak Society.

  • It later was expanded to plant, protect, and promote Houston’s urban forest.

  • The Greater Northside Management District has partnered with Trees for Houston to plant 238 trees throughout the District.  Together we will work to see that trees shade neighborhoods, clean air, beautify streets, and slow runoff.

  • We have began planting trees along HWY 59 North and Jensen/Calvacade with the help of volunteers.  We will have future plantings posted on website under Events.

  • Trees will be watered and maintained by Trees for Houston for 2 years.  Any trees that die during this time will be replaced.
